The High Cost of Education:
- New York schools had the highest per-pupil spending in ’21 and ’22; $26,571 and $27,504 respectively.
- Idaho spent the least, with $9,053 in 2021 and $9,670 in 2022
- Idaho students outperformed their high cost counterparts in New York.
- There is almost NO relationship between money spent and the quality of education.
- This is a fact across countries, states, and Utah districts.
- Virtually ALL of your state income tax and about 72% of your local property tax goes to education.
- The state of Utah and the County of Wasatch do not need to increase taxes to improve learning.
Trust
- Only 26% of the people nationwide trust their public schools
- That’s the same level of trust they have in Big Tech and Big Banks.
- That means the inverse; 74% DON’T trust their public schools to do what their taxes are paying them to do.
